About Me
Hello!
My name is Dixie, and I have grown up most of my life in the state of Tennessee. I have always had a heart for people and seeing others reach their greatest potential. Since a young age I was the mediator of my family who was challenging others to reach common ground and to always have an unbiased outlook. This desire continued, and I pursued counseling right after graduating high school and haven't looked back since.
My approach to counseling is providing a space you feel comfortable in. Sometimes when we think of therapy we picture a professional in a chair with a clipboard judging us. This couldn't be farther from my office. Come in, wear your comfiest clothes, and let's chat. I want you to be your most genuine self in my 4 walls, and I promise to do the same.
I love to spend my time with friends and family, traveling, growing my collection of plants, and sitting on the couch with my husband, son, and border collie named Han (yes as in Han Solo from Star Wars). Humor is arguably my second language, so please feel free to bring yours into session!
I work with clients of all ages and backgrounds. This includes but not limited to depression, anxiety, religious trauma, compulsions, self-harm, unhealthy relationship patterns, attachment struggles, and pregnancy related concerns. I would love to aid in your healing process.
I have graduated with my masters of education in counseling and human development from Lindsey Wilson College and having my temporary LPC/MHSP license #6676.
Working under the supervision of Shaine Malekgoodar, LPC-MHSP #3368
